Comb, Face, Wattles & Ear Lobes:   Bright Red                                                                                                     

Beak:              Horn with slight gray shading.

Eyes:               Dark Brown.               

Beard & Muffs:      same as breast 

Boots:                         Black, edged and tipped with white.

Shanks and Toes: Slaty Blue; plumage, black tipped with white, the wide web being edged

                               with golden buff.

 

Plumage:  Color of Male:

Head:              Brilliant light orange vermillion, each feather tipped with a small white spangle, 

                        a narrow V-shaped bar of

                        black dividing the spangle from the remainder of the feather.                                                    Champion 2000 National

Neck:              Brilliant light orange vermillion, with a metallic sheen, each feather having a                                

                        lustrous greenish black stripe extending

                        lengthwise through lower part of feather, terminating near end of feather, tipped

                        with a diamond-shaped pure white spangle, Front of neck- same as breast.

Back:              Brilliant light orange vermillion, each feather having a lustrous greenish black

                        stripe extending lengthwise through lower part of feather terminating near end of

                        feather, tipped with a diamond-shaped pure white spangle, the black strip broadening

                        out to edge of feather where it meets with white spangle.

Saddle:            Same as Hackle.

Tail:                Main Tail- Black- each feather tipped with white.

                        Sickles, Lesser Sickles & Coverts- lustrous greenish black, each feather tipped

                        with a V-shaped pure white spangle.

Wings:            Shoulder & Fronts- Same as breast.

                        Bow-   rich light orange vermillion, each feather tipped with a pure white spangle.

                        Coverts- deep bay, each feather having a V-shaped pure white spangle at end of

                        feather, a V-shaped black bar dividing white spangle from balance of feather, the

                        V-shaped bar and spangle being larger and more pronounced that other spangling,

                         the whole forming two distinct bars across wing .  Primaries-  inner webs, black;

                         outer webs black. slightly edged with bay,  lower portion of feather edged with

                         white.  Secondaries- outer webs bay; inner webs dull black, extending into outer

                         webs near end of feather; end of feather tipped with white.

Breast             Golden bay, each feather tipped with a V-shaped white spangle,  a V-shaped bar

                         of black dividing white from remainder of feather.

Body & Stern: Body- same as breast. Stern- fluff, slaty buff tipped with white.

Lower Thighs: Same as Breast

Undercolor:     Slate, shading to slaty buff at base, in all sections.

Head:              Rich golden buff, each feather marked with a V-shaped bar of black near end of

                         feather, end of feather tipped with a V-shaped pure white spangle.

Neck               Hackle – Rich golden buff, each feather marked with a V-shaped bar of black

                        near end of feather, end of feather tipped with a diamond-shaped pure white

                        spangle. Front of Neck- same as breast.

Back & Cushion:       Rich golden buff, each feather marked with a V-shaped bar of black near

                         end of feather, end of feather tipped with a V-shaped pure white spangle.

Tail:                 Main Tail – dull black, tipped with pure white, top two feathers with some buff on

                         upper web.      Coverts – same as back.

Wings:            Shoulders, Fronts & bows – same as back.

                        Coverts – same as back except that the V – shaped spangled are larger and more

                         pronounced.  the whole forming two distinct bars across wings.  Primaries- inner

                         webs black; outer webs black, edged with bay.  Secondaries – outer webs golden

                         buff extending nearly to end of feather: inner webs dull black, extending nearly

                         to end of feather and broadening out into outer webs nearly to end        of feather,

                        where it joins spangle at tip, the whole forming a spangled effect at the end of the

                        Secondaries,  when wing is folded and held in its natural position.

Breast:            Same as Back

Body & Stern: Body – same as breast, Stern – fluff, slaty buff, tipped with white.

Lower thighs:  Same as Breast

Undercolor      Medium Slate, shading to pale salmon at base, in all sections.

                       

Disqualifications:

Two or more solid white feathers in any section of plumage.
